SIP (Self Intelligent Principle) Card of the Week

12/08/2025

Find common ground in every conversation, knowing that unity creates unstoppable momentum. Inspired by the Harmony strength.

If you have Harmony high, you naturally look for areas of agreement. You’re wired to reduce friction, calm tension, and help people work together. Conflict drains you, so you instinctively guide conversations toward shared understanding.

If you have Harmony low, you may be more comfortable with debate, digging into differences, or exploring opposing views. You aren’t avoiding unity, you just arrive at it after working through the tension. That depth can be incredibly valuable.

Either way, the card’s message applies:

Common ground doesn’t mean everyone agrees.
It simply means everyone feels respected enough to move forward together.

This week, pay attention to the overlaps in your conversations, the places where you already share a goal, a hope, or a value. That small point of connection is often all it takes to turn resistance into momentum.

Where could finding common ground bring more ease or progress into your relationships this week?

Essential Oil of the Week

12/08/2025

Of course we think of Douglas Fir around Christmas time. It is the perfect oil to diffuse to get your home smelling like the season, especially if you don’t put up a real tree.

But along with smelling like the season, diffusing Douglas Fir also freshens the air by creating positive and inspiring surroundings through the aromatics of the scent. Pro tip: add a few drops to your counter top spray for extra cleansing benefits not to mention the added Christmas spirit.

But did you know that it is also very cleansing to the skin? Just add a drop or two to your body wash or moisturizer for a natural purifying effect.

With all the hustle and bustle of the holidays don’t forget to take a moment to unwind and rest your body. Speed up achy muscle recovery by adding a couple drops of Douglas Fir to your favorite carrier oil for a relaxing massage.

Get creative by combining it with various citrus and spice oils for added depth.

Due to the chemical make-up of Douglas Fir it also can be used for a variety of health benefits such as:

  • mental fog & low energy

  • depression & tension

  • congestion & sinus issues

  • respiratory infections & cough

  • arthritis conditions & skin irritations

Fun fact: Douglas Fir essential oil is sustainably sourced from young trees in New Zealand, where the plant is actually a highly invasive species. By harvesting Douglas fir trees for essential oil, doTERRA combats a negative environmental impact and provides premium essential oil.

The Creator Becomes the Client

12/06/2025

When I first imagined the SMW (Solopreneur Mentorship & Wellness) Collective, I wasn’t creating just another business concept or professional network. I was building a place where variety really is the spice of life, a mix of modalities, personalities, perspectives, and strengths that come together to help people grow personally and professionally.

As a solopreneur, I know how challenging it can be to do everything alone. There’s strength in numbers, clarity in collaboration, and reassurance in knowing you don’t have to hold the world on your own shoulders. I wanted to bring like-minded people together to support not only the community, both locally and virtually, but to support one another as we all build something meaningful.

What I didn’t expect was how much I would come to lean on this Collective personally, not just professionally.

It began with my health struggles:

For years I knew something was wrong but could never pinpoint it. In those uncertain seasons, Michele Cremeans, LMT and owner of Le Belle Epoque Center for Enlightenment, instinctively read what my body, mind, and soul were trying to say. Her healing massages carried me through the unknown while I searched for answers and clarity.

After my compression syndrome diagnosis known as MALS (median arcuate ligament syndrome) that is causing very limited blood flow to my whole digestive system, treatment options started pulling me in a direction that didn’t feel right. My intuition felt fuzzy from fear and confusion, so I turned to Michelle Schulze with R.I.S.E. Transformational Coaching. She walked me through the internal tug-of-war of doubt and direction, ultimately helping me trust myself enough to seek a specialist who finally understood the complexities of my rare condition.

As surgery approached, my responsibilities kept whispering louder than my well-being. It was Sam Augaitis-Elzey, Compassionate Counseling mental health therapist and one of my tenants, who reminded me repeatedly that stepping back wasn’t weakness, it was wisdom. Her reassurance and help gave me permission to put healing first.

Then came the follow-up ultrasound. No change. The compression was still there. And I unraveled.
I knew I needed to regain some sense of agency over my body, so I reached out to our newest member, Tanya Sarvay, energy healer. In just one session, she started to release trauma stored deep in my solar plexus, emotional and physical, especially after the celiac ganglionectomy performed during surgery. I left feeling lighter, relieved, and more hopeful than I had in months.

Once I could breathe again, the practical side of me stepped forward. I contacted Dr. Libby Wilson owner of Best Life Functional Medicine, beginning the process of uncovering the root causes of the inflammation running this whole show. Even though MALS is known to be structural, inflammation is the gateway to so many hidden diseases. As good as modern medicine can be, I am one to seek alternative, natural approaches to overall health and wellness.

As test results come in and the protocol becomes clear, I already know I’ll continue leaning into Christi Robinson, Certified Holistic Healing Coach, for her “Live a Little Free” guidance. This menopausal season has added its own complications, and she brings the perfect blend of compassion and practicality to help me be gentle with myself as I navigate all of it.

And because healing isn’t just about the body, it’s also about alignment and intention, I’m looking forward to working with Wendy Roop, whose Leadership Coaching will help me fully re-enter the world with a focused strategy, and renewed purpose. I know once I feel better, I’ll want to take on everything… and she’ll help me do it with intention, not overwhelm.

Finally, the biggest mountain of all: money.
When my strength returns, it will be time to face my own financial blocks with Teanna Lambert’s Financial Coaching. She brings a calm, empowering clarity to a topic that has challenged me for decades, and I know the timing will align exactly when I need it.

And of course, through this whole journey I have been leaning into my own personal process, guiding me through all the overwhelm. When we know HOW we do things best uniquely and authentically, we can make the decisions that are in alignment with our needs.

I know for me, just seeking one route in healing would leave me feeling incomplete. I would be missing all these amazing women and resources that are helping me get back on track to feeling empowered every day.

This entire experience has reminded me of one of my core beliefs, the mind, body, and soul are connected. Healing one without the other is only part of the work.

And sometimes the communities we build with another purpose actually become the very support systems that carry us through our own hardest chapters.

If you’re reading this and find yourself needing support, personally, professionally, or both, I hope this gives you permission to seek it.
If you’ve ever thought about gathering your own “collective” of people who help you grow, consider this your sign. I would be happy to explore that with you.

Whether you join ours, create your own, or simply connect with someone who helps you breathe easier, remember you don’t have to do any of this alone. The right people truly can make all the difference.

Want More Out of Life? Start Doing Less

12/05/2025

This episode title really intrigued me because I often feel like I am trying to do all the things rather than focus and put my energy into fewer things to get where I want to be. If you relate, maybe you will find value in this podcast too.

When the Path Takes an Unexpected Turn

12/03/2025

I am exactly three months post-op and had my follow-up ultrasound to check recovery progress and found out the surgery didn’t do what I had hoped for. In fact, I’m sitting in the same place physically that I was before the procedure.

When I first heard the news, I broke down and let myself feel all the feels, fear, frustration, disappointment, all of it. Then I broke up the pity party, took a breath, and got to work figuring out Plan B.

Because here’s the thing I’ve learned again and again:

A perspective shift can completely change your mindset.
And when your mindset shifts, clarity follows.
And once you have clarity, action suddenly becomes a lot easier.

So yes, I’m not on the path I hoped to be on. But I’m not lost, I’m just course correcting. Instead of viewing my body as deteriorating, I am realizing there is more to my condition than MALS so it’s just time to dig deeper to the real root cause.

I’m paying attention.
I’m making adjustments.
I’m choosing to trust my intuition instead of forcing my way down a route that clearly isn’t the right one for me.

I did what I believed I was supposed to do.
Now it’s time to listen inward, respond to my body, and follow what feels right—not what I thought should be working.

Sometimes the most empowering thing we can do is admit the first plan didn’t go as planned… and then give ourselves permission to pivot with clarity instead of panic.

And that’s where I’m at today, still healing, still hopeful, and more aligned than I was yesterday. And yet… the moment I got the news, my mind tried to convince me I was failing.

Sound familiar?

But here’s the truth I had to remind myself of, and maybe you need this reminder too:

You are allowed to be both concerned and empowered at the same time.
You can worry and still move forward.
You can feel fear and still choose support.

And stress?
Let’s just say stress loves to sneak in and stir the pot, especially when money, work, and the weight of building something meaningful come into play. But stress isn’t a character flaw; it’s a signal. And every single time I’ve paused long enough to breathe, reflect, shift perspective, and take a small empowering action, my body responds.

So no… I’m not deteriorating.
I’m supporting, adjusting, learning, and strengthening.
I’m doing my part.
And that matters.

If you’re walking through something with your own health right now, I hope this lands gently:

Bad news doesn’t erase the good work you’re already doing. Sometimes it just reminds you to look at it differently.

You are far more supported, more proactive, and more capable than you think especially when you follow your personal process and listen to your gut.

We are stronger than we give ourselves credit for, we just need to listen.

Anger, a secondary emotion to fear
A compass with a floral design in the center and the words 'Elle Heart' at the bottom. The outer ring reads 'Feel Em Powered Every Day.'

SIP (Self Intelligent Principle) Card of the Week

12/01/2025

Anger is a secondary emotion to fear so when you or someone else is lashing out, ask what are they really afraid of in order to address the real issue

This week’s SIP is one of those truths that can change the way you show up for yourself and the people you care about.

When someone is lashing out, raising their voice, shutting down, or coming in hot, it’s rarely about anger alone.

Anger is usually the smoke.
Fear is the fire.

And when we learn to look past the smoke, everything shifts.

I’ll never forget a moment years ago when I was working in the middle school. One of my students, quiet, bright, always trying to hold it together, was having a really rough day. After a little gentle checking-in, she finally admitted she didn’t want to go home because, “My mom is just going to yell at me again.”

I sat with her for a minute and told her something I wish someone would’ve told me much earlier in life:
“When parents yell, it’s not okay… but it’s often not actually anger. Most of the time, they’re afraid. Afraid you might get hurt. Afraid they’re not doing a good enough job. Afraid they’re losing connection and honestly, control.”

We talked through what that might look like for her and how shifting her perspective didn’t excuse the behavior, it simply helped her understand the real emotion underneath it.

The next morning she came in with this soft little smile and said, “We actually had a really good talk last night.” And then I overheard her explaining the same concept to a friend who was struggling.

That’s the power of naming fear beneath anger.
It opens the door to conversations, compassion, and clarity… even in situations that feel stuck.

So this week, when you notice anger, your own or someone else’s, pause and ask:

“What might be the fear underneath this?”

It doesn’t justify harmful behavior, but it does give you a clearer path to the real issue. And clarity is where empowerment begins.

Reflection:
What’s one recent moment where anger showed up—yours or someone else’s? What fear might have been trying to get your attention?
